Norway, Japan Win at U20 Womens World Cup
Mexica went down 1-2 to Norway, while Japan defeated Canada 2-0 Thursday in the second day of the Under-20 women's soccer World Cup in Chile.
In Group C, Michi Goto and Asuna Tanaka scored for Japan at the La Florida stadium in Santiago, capital of Chile.
In Group D, Mexico faced Norway at the "German Becker" stadium in the city of Temuco, some 600 kilometers south of Santiago. Marita Lund put Norway 1-0 ahead at 27 minute, but Mexico snacthed an equalizer through Dinora Garza just one minute later. Ida Enget sealed the win for Norway with a 76 minute goal.
The World Cup will conclude on Dec. 7 and is being played in the cities of Coquimbo, Santiago, Chillan and Temuco.
Argentina, China, Norway, Germany, Brazil, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, England, Mexico, Congo, France, Nigeria, the United States, Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Chile are taking part in the quadrennially-held event.
